Hi all,
I got out hunting today for a couple hours. I was driving
around
trying to find a good spot to detect and there it was. A real nice yard
and a turn of the century house. The owner had just got through mowing
the yard so I thought I would just stop and chat a bit. After some nice
conversation about the home and it's history I ask the question. He said
sure have at it. I knew it was going to be good when I got about 4 foot
into the yard and dug the pocket watch. It appears to be copper with a
white face. Hands are gone but a cool find anyway.
Next I went over to the sidewalk leading up to the front
door and
started my search. All the way to the end and not one hit. I made my
turn and on the outer edge of the swing was a 50 cent reading on the ID.
Dang if a 1960 Franklin half wasn't in there at 7 inches just like the
DeLeón said. At the other end of this pass came a 1946 Rosie, and right
beside it was a 1941 Merc. The next target was a 14kt small gold ring
with S.Bros. On the inside by kt marking.
Well needless to say I was real happy at this point. I was
thinking
how many pieces of silver and gold are going to come out of this yard?
That Merc. Was the last one for this hunt.
I found a couple tokens on has a picture of a stove on the
front,
and says Steel Range Manufacturing Co. on the back. The other one is a
spinner token the size of a half dollar. On the front it says round and
round it goes where it stops no one knows, and has an arrow that says
you pay. On the back it says Stroz Gold Crest Beer.
Also from this hunt came a no date Buffalo nickel, 2 Indian
pennies
1901, 1904. Six wheat's 44, 45, 46, 2/47s, and a 56. I also dug a clad half
1986.The misc. stuff is
a copper latch, a lead dress weight, some type of copper reed, and a
couple what's its.
I was using the Tesoro DeLeón, and it was right on ID wise,
and
depth. The 2 silver dimes both came at 7 inches +. I have to say I
really like this machine. It is very easy to use and the screen is easy
to understand. What a great morning. I can't wait to go back and finish
this yard as it covers nearly a quarter of a block.
Happy Hunting
